Carneros

Straddling Napa and Sonoma counties, Carneros is one of the world's premier winegrowing regions.  Carneros became an AVA in 1983, with unique characteristics based as much on climate as on geographic features.  The Pacific Ocean, the coastal mountain ranges and the San Francisco Bay greatly impact the region's terroir and distinguish its grapes.  Carneros is one of the most rural wine regions and is noted for natural beauty, wildlife and a commitment to community and to preserving the environment. Vistors may view acres and acres of vineyards, as well as wineries, wildlife, marshes, wetlands and ecological habitats.
