Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir (pee-no n’wahr) is one of the most challenging wine grapes to bring to full potential, but this cool-climate varietal wine does exceptionally well in California’s coastal valleys. Pinot Noir is light- to medium-bodied, with inviting aromas of violets, truffles, spice, juicy berry and cherry. Its smooth, silky texture makes for easy pairing with a wide range of foods, such as turkey, pork or rich, creamy pastas. Recently, Pinot Noir received a boost in popularity from a lusty endorsement in the movie "Sideways", whose main character prefers Pinot Noir.
